Whether
you are about to journey to the Amazon Rainforest, have just returned,
or simply want to learn more about this majestic ecosystem, we are sure
you will enjoy this basic introduction to the plants, animals, and
peoples of the rainforest of Peru.
There are two ways for you to use this Web-CD. First,
simply explore it from your CD drive. Your computer should be configured
with a common web browser such as Microsoft Explorer or Netscape
Navigator. All text and images are readily
available and all navigational links are operative. Most images can be
viewed in a larger format by simply clicking on them. Set your
screen to the highest resolution available in order to see the
rainforest images at their best. There are
also audio files containing sounds of the rainforest located throughout
this display. If your computer is equipped with a sound card,
speakers and a relatively recent browser (Netscape 4.x or Explorer 5.x,
or newer) these files will automatically activate. However, to fully
benefit from the Web-CD, use it while connected to your Internet Service
Provider. In this way, the links to other web sites and other
organizations will be operative, providing you the unlimited resources
of the Internet to more thoroughly learn about the Amazon Rainforest.
